Quakers Start 2023 with a Bang; Advance to 14-1

Quakers continue where they left off in their first two games of 2023, picking up two wins, one against there crosstown rivals in the Drexel Dragons and one on the road against NJIT.

In what has been dubbed “The Scuffle on the Schuylkill” the Quakers defeated crosstown rivals, the Drexel Dragons, in their first game of 2023, by a score of 6-3. Quakers came out swinging and scored three power play goals in the first period to set the tone for the game. Assistance Captain Calvin Alifervo and Spencer Touhy lead the team with two goals each with goaltender Xander Kostelink fending off 32 shots in their 6-3 victory.

Saturday the Quakers traveled up the Prudential Center to take on CSCHC opponent NJIT and it was all Quakers from opening whistle. Amassing 60 shots on goal the Quakers scored nine times with production for seniors Hayden Stephen and Jerry Xiang each scoring two goals along with scoring from Zack Qian, Calvin Alifervo, and Dhruv Raman.

With these two wins the team moves to a record on the season of 14-1 and remain in first place in CSCHC with 4 games remaining.
