Penn sweeps the weekend, stays atop the CSCHC

The tryptophan didn’t seem to slow the Quakers, as they gobbled up two more wins this past weekend after returning from Thanksgiving break.

The team defeated Bryn Athyn 5-2 on Friday night and took down Penn State Berks 12-1 on Sunday afternoon.

At Bryn Athyn’s outdoor rink, the Lions quickly jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Penn struggled to break through until midway through the second when they put three in the net in the span of five minutes. Calvin Aliferov, Ethan Abraham and Spencer Tuohy had the goals for the Quakers.

“We really woke up,” said Coach Alec Artosky, “We started playing Penn hockey.”

The team added another two goals in the third and coasted to a 5-2 victory.

On Sunday, Penn traveled to Reading, Pennsylvania to take on Penn State Berks. The outcome of the game was never in doubt as Penn ran up the score, securing their second victory of the weekend.

Freshman Aidan Armaly led the Quakers with a hat trick, continuing his strong rookie season. Zach Qian added two goals and two assists and Alifervo built on Friday’s performance with two goals and an assist.

Penn at 11-1, continues to sit atop of the Colonial States College Hockey Conference and is ranked ninth in the South East region of ACHA D2.

The Quakers look to end 2022 on a strong note, taking on Bryn Athyn at home this Friday at 7pm.
